Registration is open for the 2025 Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference – E Aʻe A Ulu
The Hawaiʻi Conservation Alliance will be holding the 32nd
annual Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference (HCC) on Tuesday, July 22 through Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Hawai‘i Convention Center in Honolulu.
This year’s conference theme, E Aʻe A Ulu (loosely translating to restore and regenerate), speaks to the demand of our current times that we work collaboratively to forge a new Hawaiʻi. Our actions to conserve and restore native ecosystems and the unique biocultural diversity of our islands enable the restoration of ecosystem functions and viable habitats for the native plants and animals that are the foundation of our identity and wellbeing. The theme echoes a chant to Hiʻiaka, the gentle younger sister of Pele, a goddess of restoration embodied by the greening of new lava flows after the fiery actions of Pele. ʻO Hiʻiaka kā ke kāula, Nāna i hele a aʻe a ulu- Hiʻiaka is indeed the seer, wherever she goes things sprout and grow. This natural edict of regeneration, he Kīhoʻihoʻi Kānāwai, reminds us that when given the opportunity, land, ocean, and people can return to health. E aʻe a ulu pū — Let us restore and regenerate together! When ʻāina is restored, we are all restored.
Early bird registration is available through May 31, including heavily discounted student and emerging professional registration rates. Scholarship opportunities are available for students and emerging professionals, which provides a reduced registration rate of $50. Applications are open and being accepted on a rolling basis until Friday, July 4.
