Since 2012, the Foundation has partnered with the University of Hawaiʻi to offer graduate assistantship opportunities at both UH Hilo and UH Mānoa. For the Fall 2026 school year, we are pleased to support nine graduate assistantship positions.
Each assistantship includes a tuition waiver, along with a two-year salary and funding for supplies and professional development. Students are selected by the respective university programs. For details about selection criteria and application requirements, please visit the links below for each participating school. You may contact the schools directly with any questions about applying.
These assistantships are part of Hauʻoli Mau Loa Foundation’s Environmental Leadership Pathways initiative, which supports Hawaiʻi-based organizations working to prepare the next generation of mālama ʻāina leaders across the islands.
